A huge THANK YOU from the SLHS Freshman Football Team goes out to BURT CARRASCO for his generosity Thursday night after the home game.  Mr. Carrasco a huge fan of the South Lyon football programs offered to feed the boys after the game, the boys headed out to the "RICKY MOBILE" as many of us refer to, to Mr. Carrasco's motor home for pizza and pop.  Mr. Carrasco a parent of a Varsity Gold Panther-Ricky Carrasco, often served up gourmet treats to the boys last year after practices, and wanted to extend his gratitude to the boys that moved up from the Panther program this year.  He and his children have made many friends over the last couple of years primarily through football.
We can not thank you enough Burt......

Game 4 @ Livonia Stevenson

South Lyon 47
Livonia Stevenson 6
The Freshman Lions were too much for the Livonia Stevenson Spartans to handle. With a bone crushing victory of 47-6.  The Lions were the dominators, starting with the third play of the game when Mark Kruzeja recovered a fumble which led to a TD ran in by Ryan Nelson.  Minutes later John Newman intercepted a pass for another TD.  Still in the first quarter Ryan Nelson intercepted another pass running 14 yds for a TD.
With 10:09 on the clock in the second quarter Ryan Nelson intercepts another pass, followed by two successful passes by Mike Evans to Ryan Nelson setting up a 31 yard run for a TD by Justin Tolinski.
The third quarter put another 7 on the board when Trevor Hilden ran for 48 yds thanks to successful blocking by Mark Patera & Jake Sexton.
Early in the fourth 2 successful quarterback sacks were credited to both John Newman and Jake Sexton.  As the Spartans threatened to score Tyler Clifford's attempt to intercept proved just fine as he blocked the Spartan pass in the end-zone, but another attempt was made and the Spartans were successful on the TD attempt . The fourth quarter proved to be yet another successful one as Trevor Hilden ran in a 54 yd TD.  After a successful fumble recovery by Tyler Sallan and another by  Justin Allen which allowed Trevor Hilden to run in another TD.
Thanks to the defenders as they held back the Spartans: key tackles by Jake Sexton, Mark Patera, Mark Kruzeja, Justin Tolinski, Brian Birckelbaw, Andrew Sarsfield & Ryan Talaga,  provided many roars from the crowd.
