Game 4 @ Livonia Stevenson

South Lyon JV went to Livonia Stevenson and played a well coached Spartan team. This game was between two of the better teams in the KLAA.

Stevenson scored first on a long drive down the field, most of their runs were off tackle by # 44. South Lyon received the kickoff on their own 12 yard line and had an impressive long drive down the field before Stevenson caused a fumble on their own 7 yard line. South Lyon tried to move the ball into the end zone before half time but turned the ball over on downs. With about 3 minutes to go before halftime, Stevenson again drove 30 yards for a touchdown. Halftime score was 14 - 0.

The second half started with SL receiving the kick but could not move the ball. They punted the ball away, again Stevenson had a long drive down the field for a score. The score was 21 to 0 when South Lyon started their comeback, QB Ian Herman took the snap and faked it to Hunter Brenneman, with Herman running around the right side for a 45 yard gain. There were a few passes and short runs before Corey Frederick broke through the middle of the line for a 42 yard scamper to put South Lyon on the board. The extra point was no good.

Stevenson took the kick, the defense stepped up not allowing them to move the ball. South Lyon took the ball on their own 35 yard line. Ian Herman dropped back to pass, completing the pass to Corey Frederick who ran 25 yards before the ball was stripped out from behind and Stevenson recovered the fumble.

Again South Lyon's strong defense held Stevenson from moving the ball. South Lyon took possession with 5 minutes to go,and from their 42 Ian Herman took the snap from the shot gun and again faked the hand off and ran around the left end finishing with a 68 yard touchdown run. Thomas Marcus ran the ball in for the extra points. Stevenson scored for the last time in the game with the final score of 28 to 14 against a tired defense that played a very hard game.

Game 2 @ Milford

South Lyon JV lost Thursday night in a back and forth battle to Milford 31-28. Hunter Brenneman gave the lions the early lead with a 15 yard touchdown run to make it 6-0 lions. Milford came right back and tied the game on the next possession. The game continued to be an offensive showcase with Hunter scoring again for his second TD of the night. Cory Frederick and Joe Call also put the rock in the endzone for the Lions. Tom Kort threw his first TD pass of the year to Joe Call but Milford kept pace with the Lions and took the lead 31-28. The two-headed QB monster of Tom Kort and Ian Herman have this offense rolling and defenses scrambling as they helped put 7 TDs on the board in the first two games.
